A void contract is a contract whose existence and non-existence are the same and have no effect. A void contract has no effect in the future. This is contrary to an ineffective contract because an ineffective contract has no effect until it is enforced but is effective after that, and therefore an ineffective contract is not considered void despite having no effect. A void contract is also called corrupt.
